The intervention enhanced access to safe drinking water for surrounding communities while promoting climate-resilient water resource management. Despite severe challenges, including unprecedented monsoon conditions and the 2024 West Bengal floods that damaged a portion of the infrastructure, the project demonstrated strong adaptive capacity. Detailed assessments and redesign measures led to the integration of more resilient and sustainable structural solutions, ensuring improved long-term durability. With reinitiated efforts and an extended implementation timeline, the project has strengthened both physical infrastructure and community preparedness for climate-related risks. Overall, the intervention has directly benefited approximately 300 children and 1000 adults by improving access to safe and sustainable water resources, while laying a robust foundation for continued resilience and community-led management.
