Initiative by Kolkata Trust for Human Development to Combat Against COVID 19 Crisis
With the lockdown imposed in India from end of March 2020, to combat the coronavirus situation, millions of people are not able to work. With no livelihood and income source, they are left with no money to buy food and other basic necessities. Hunger and starvation have emerged as major threats to communities living on the fringes.
An initiative was taken by Kolkata Trust for Human Development (KTfHD) on 6th April 2020 to ensure that nine children including their families presently attending the Mother and Child Welfare Centre (MCWC) get the necessary dry ration in form of puffed rice, biscuit, eggs, rice, potato, from Mr Pradip Das, the owner of KTfHD office premises. The distribution was conducted from the MCWC premises in the presence of MCWC team and in supervision of Project In Charge.
In an another initiative taken by KTfHD on 10th May 2020 to ensure that the neediest families of Anandapur, Madurdaha locality of Kolkata get the necessary dry ration in the form of rice, dal(pulses), soyabean and biscuit.This distribution of food baskets was made to 75 families of the locality.
Both the location of the distribution was finalised based on the assessment and as recommended by the Board of Trustees.
